What capacity washing machine do I need?

The capacity you need will depend on how much washing you have to do at a time. For most people, a capacity of between 7kg-9kg will do the job, but if you have a large household, you may need more.

What is the difference between a semi-automatic or fully automatic machine?

Most washing machines available today in modern households are fully automatic, where you simply load the washer and press one or two buttons.

Alternatively, semi-automatic machines require more intervention, including the filling of water, and the moving of clothes into a separate drum for drying.

How long should a washing machine last?

According to consumer reports, washing machines tend to last for around 10 years, however, newer models are more efficient than older designs, so could last even longer!

How do I know when I need to buy a new washing machine?

Signs you might need to replace your washing machine include:

  • The drum stops spinning at the end of cycles
  • It’s really noisy
