The terms UHD and 4K are often used interchangeably in the smart TV market, which may confuse some buyers.

For those who are unclear, 4K is a screen resolution of 2840 x 2150 pixels – which, to put in comparison with standard HD (1080 X 1920), translates to around 8 million additional pixels.

Having over eight million pixels more than a standard HD TV means that a 4K display captures images and videos in almost twice as much detail – adding a sense of realism and lifelikeness to any videos, films, sports or games you may enjoy.

In the past, when TV sets made the jump from SD (640 x 480p) to HD (1080 x 1920p), many people thought that the differences were only visible dependent on screen size or how close you sat to the screen.

With UHD smart TVs, the detail is considerably crisper and more detailed than 1080p, regardless of screen sizes – although if you sit overly close to the display or only watch HD content, the differences may be less noticeable.

One of the main benefits that a UHD television offers is a far more detailed display.

Is an Ultra High Definition TV an excellent smart TV option?

Is 4K Ultra High Definition superior to 4K?
